Nicolas Cage's Horror Film LONGLEGS is Said To Be "The Scariest Film of The Decade"
Nicolas Cage’s new horror movie Longlegs has screened for critics and it’s getting great reviews! The movie currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and it’s said to be “the scariest film of the decade” which is exciting to me!
I’ve included a few excerpts from a few reviews below that are sure to get horror fans pumped up about watching this movie.
Flickering Myth: "The pure horror experience we've been waiting for. It's easily the scariest film of the decade."
Inverse: "Longlegs is Perkins’ trademark aesthetic at max volume, lingering in your thoughts, under your skin, and in the pit of your stomach well after it’s over.”
Bloody Disgusting: "Longlegs gets under your skin and stays there, immersing you so thoroughly in the repulsive, discomforting nature of evil."
Fresh Fiction: "It’s as if Oz Perkins' cinematic freak-fest was forged in Hell by Satan, who brought it as an artifact into our world as a gift."
Bring it on! It’s been a long time since I’ve watched a horror film that actually scared me. I’m pretty desensitized to that kind of stuff, so if this movie cane bring the fear… awesome!
This movie follows Maika Monroe’s character, Lee Harker, a gifted new FBI agent, who is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case.
“As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.”
Longlegs is said to be “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers,” and early reviews have compared it to the classic ’90s thriller The Silence of the Lambs.
The movie was written and directed by Osgood Perkins (Gretel & Hansel) and it’s set to be released on July 12th, 2024.
