Nightmarishly Disturbing Full Trailer For Director Gareth Evans' APOSTLE

“The promise of the divine is but an illusion.”

The full trailer has been released for director Gareth Evans‘ new film Apostle and it looks great! Evans is the director of The Raid films, and he’s brought us a very different kind of film with Apostle. This movie tells a disturbing story that is filled with the kind of stuff that nightmares are made of! This is my kind movie! It looks like it’s going to be an insane ride!

The movie stars Dan Stevens and it’s been described as “a harrowing occult fable where the only thing more horrifying than madness is the sinister reality behind it.” Here’s the synopsis for the movie:

London, 1905. Prodigal son Thomas Richardson (Dan Stevens) has returned home, only to learn that his sister is being held for ransom by a religious cult. Determined to get her back at any cost, Thomas travels to the idyllic island where the cult lives under the leadership of the charismatic Prophet Malcolm (Michael Sheen). As Thomas infiltrates the island’s community, he learns that the corruption of mainland society that they claim to reject has infested the cult’s ranks nonetheless – and uncovers a secret far more evil than he could have imagined.

Apostle also stars Lucy Boynton (Murder on the Orient Express, The Blackcoat’s Daughter), Mark Lewis Jones (Stella, Keeping Faith), Bill Milner (IBoy, X-Men: First Class), Kristine Froseth (Rebel in the Rye, Sierra Burgess is a Loser) Paul Higgins (Utopia, Couple in a Hole), and Michael Sheen (Home Again, Passengers).

The movie will be released on October 12th on Netflix. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think!
