Nike Reveals Their BACK TO THE FUTURE-Inspired Power Lacing Shoes — HyperAdapt

Back in 1989, the world was introduced to the Nike Mag in Back to the Future Part II, a fictional futuristic shoe that had power laces. Every kid from the '80s wanted a pair and now, 27 years later, Nike actually has a sneaker with power laces! It's called the HyperAdapt 1.0, and of course, I want a pair!

Wired released the first photos of the shoe as well as a video showing us the shoe in action. Lead creator Tiffany Beers explains how she and her team made this a reality and also talks about all the different features of the great-looking shoe.

The shoes have lights that tell you when the battery life is low and they come with a magnetic dock that you can charge them with. We live in exciting times, my friends, and now all we need is for hoverboards to be perfected and mass produced.

Nike's Tinker Hatfield and Tiffany Beers explain the new power-lacing HyperAdapt 1.0 and demonstrate how to charge the sneakers, and tighten and loosen the laces with the touch of a button.
