Nintendo Announces PAPER MARIO: THE ORIGAMI KING and It Looks Perfect
Nintendo has finally revealed the Paper Mario game for the Nintendo Switch and it looks amazing! Mario is now going to face his greatest foe ever: origami. I absolutely love everything about this. Paper Mario games are a lot of fun, and the fact that the villains are origami is hilarious to me. I think my favorite part of the trailer for the game, dubbed Paper Mario: The Origami King, is the stinger where Mario is wearing a paper mache version of Samus Aran’s helmet. Stop teasing us, Nintendo, and give us details on Metroid Prime 4!
Mario faces one of his most thrilling challenges yet in Paper Mario: The Origami King when the dangerous King Olly unleashes his plan to fold the entire world. Just when matters couldn’t get worse, he’s bound Princess Peach’s Castle in giant, colored streamers and transported it to a distant mountain. He’s even transformed Bowser’s minions into Folded Soldiers and enlisted them in his treacherous cause.
The Origami King gives Mario some new tools, and it brings a new ring-based battle system that is teased in the trailer. The system will require players to use puzzle-solving skills to maximize damage against scattered enemies. As for those new tools, Mario will have 1000-Fold Arms which allows him to stretch his arm further to interact more with the environment. You may have also noticed that Bowser and others actually become Mario’s unlikely allies to bring down the folded King Olly. I’m very excited for this game and cannot wait for it to launch on the Nintendo Switch on July 17!
