Nintendo Indefinitely Delays the Release of ADVANCE WARS 1+2: RE-BOOT CAMP Because of Russia's Invasion of Ukraine

The world is a mess right now and it’s affecting a lot of people who may not even think they’re a part of it. With the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine, a lot of industries are adjusting plans and one that I don’t think many expected was Nintendo. It was recently announced via social media by Nintendo that the highly anticipated release of Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp has been delayed indefinitely.

In light of recent world events, we have made the decision to delay Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was originally scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch on April 8th. Please stay tuned for updates on a new release date.

To help provide some context, Twitter user @RadicalMGF explained how releasing the game next month may not be the best idea. Personally, I fully understand and support this decision by Nintendo. Yes, I’m bummed that I can’t play the game on April 8, but my desire to play this game is not a higher priority than the real life situation going on.

For anyone unfamiliar with the game, it opens with Blue Moon, the in-game faction equivalent and analogous to Russia/USSR, invading a neighboring territory. It's not just because it's a war game, it's explicitly because the narrative and themes are a bit too relevant right now.
