NO HARD FEELINGS Star Jennifer Lawrence Didn't Have a Second Thought About Doing Her Naked Fight Scene
Jennifer Lawrence’s No Hard Feelings actually turned out to be quite a funny movie. It was the kind of raunchy R-rated comedy that we used to see in the ‘80s and ‘90s, and it was a lot of fun!
In the film, Lawrence plays a 32-year-old woman who is hired by a rich couple to “date” their ridiculously socially awkward son to help break him out of his shell. The payment for this is a Buick Regal because, you know, she needs a new car.
Lawrence’s character, Maddie, finds herself on quite a journey with this kid and they get into some wild situations as the movie plays out. At one point, Lawrence is fully naked on a beach, and she ends up getting in a fight with some kids who are trying to steal their clothes.
It’s a pretty crazy scene, but apparently, Lawrence had no issues jumping in and doing it. She just thought it was funny and did it! While promoting the film the actress was asked about the scene and she said:
“Everyone in my life and my team is doing the right thing and going, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?’ I didn’t even have a second thought. It was hilarious to me.”
Lawrence explained that “a lot of rehearsal” time went into shooting the scene, and when talking about awkward, sexually-charged moments in the film in general, her co-star, Barth Feldman, said:
“Every situation that these characters end up in, you’re laughing your butt off. We became so close instantly that nothing ever felt weird or unsafe. It was entirely professional.”
Without missing a beat, Lawrence turned to Feldman and asked, “Even when I put my T-shirt over your head and motor-boated you? You felt safe?” Feldman responded in a deadpan manner, “I felt it was an exclusively sterile and professional environment.”
The movie comes from director Gene Stupnitsky (Good Boys), and it also stars Andrew Feldman, Laura Benanti, Natalie Morales, and Matthew Broderick.
