No More DC Comics Spinoffs for The CW After LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

At the 2014 San Diego Comic-con, there was one detail that really bugged me with the WB TV Panel. Why weren’t all of the shows on the same channel? I didn’t get why the CW wasn’t the home for all things DC. Well, my question has been answered.

The LA Times reported that The CW’s President, Mark Pedowitz, was answering questions at Television Critics Association Press Tour when he was asked about plans for making The CW the DC Channel. This is what he had to say:

"The network has achieved one of its intended missions -- bring in more male viewers -- with its DC superhero dramas, Arrow and The Flash, both of which are top performers for the network. Those shows, as well as the network's other genre-centric series, made it seem like the more logical home for the forthcoming youth-oriented series Supergirl — but that show ultimately flew over to sister network CBS. (CBS Corp. and Warner Bros co-own the CW.)"

As for Supergirl and any potential crossovers with shows on the network, the L.A. Times reports:

“Sometimes you lose great projects,” he said. The network does have another upcoming DC project, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, rolling out midseason.
But Pedowitz said that's it for now for the DC universe on the CW: "There is no intention, at this point, to spin anything else off," Pedowitz said. OK, sure.
Pedowitz noted, as CBS Entertainment chief Nina Tassler did on Monday, that there would be cross-promotion of its current DC properties with CBS' Supergirl. But as far as story-line crossovers, Pedowitz said he's leaving that up to Arrow/The Flash executive producer Greg Berlanti.
"We’re open to crossovers. It’s Greg’s call because he understands his shows."

I know that the market right now is oversaturated with superhero movies/tv shows, and I can respect not wanting to spread the whole thing too thin. But, I do have to say that this proclamation has made me sad. One of the reasons I was so stoked for Legends of Tomorrow was because of the possibility of getting to see duo of Booster Gold and the Blue Beetle brought to life. Seeing Rip Hunter in a show gave me hope that that awesome pair would get their own show (if they were ever even brought onto the program). Now, he did say there would be no more spinoffs, but he never said anything about new content.

Oh well. Life goes on. I know that The CW is making the best decision for them. Based on this information, what potential spin-offs do you think that The CW is missing out on by not doing any more superhero shows?
