Noah Centineo Exits Sony's MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Movie Leaving He-Man Role Up for Grabs
Actor Noah Centineo (The Fosters, To All the Boys…) has officially left the film Masters of the Universe that is in production at Sony. The actor was in final negotiations to play He-Man, but a representative of the actor said, "He is no longer attached to that project," when asked about the status by Collider, though no reason was given.
The film is being written and directed by Aaron and Adam Nee (Band of Robbers), and will see He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, go up against the planet Eternia to protect the secrets of Castle Grayskull. The project has been in development for years, with many writers come and go. Now that the star is again in question, the film is kind of back at square one.
But Centineo has some other big projects on the horizon, with the film The Diary, co-starring Kevin Kline and written and directed by Jackie Chan slated to come out later this year, as well as the Shazam! spin-off film Black Adam, starring Dwayne Johnson expected out next summer, and another untitled Netflix/Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Triple Frontier) film project in the works.
Who would you like to see take over the role of He-Man in Masters of the Universe?
