Noomi Rapace Set To Star in Alexandre Aja's Upcoming Thriller O2
Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) is attached to star in a contained thriller titled O2. The movie is being directed by Franck Khalfoun (Amityville: The Awakening) and Alexandre Aja (Crawl, The Hills Have Eyes) is producing the film, as well as helping out providing supervising artistic direction.
The story centers on “a woman who wakes up in a cryogenic medical pod, alone, with no memory, and no way out. All she knows is that she has 90 minutes of oxygen left and must figure out how to save herself, while discovering who she really is, who put her there, and most importantly – why?”
Well, that sounds like it would be a nightmarish experience! The script for the project was written by Christie LeBlanc and it was one of the most buzzed-about scripts on the 2016 Blacklist of unproduced screenplays. It’s good to see that it’s finally being produced!
Aja said in the statement, “One of the most compelling scripts I’ve read in years – a pure survival experience with a great mystery at its core. Even without the oxygen running out, the suspense on the page left me breathless.”
