Norman Reedus Teases THE WALKING DEAD Season Finale Will Include "A Full-On GAME OF THRONES Super War Battle"
Norman Reedus plays the beloved character Daryl Dixon on the hit AMC series The Walking Dead. He is a staple of the series and one of the few that has survived since the beginning. So he has been around for all of the biggest moments in the show’s ten seasons, and he recently teased, along with other members of the cast and crew, that the upcoming finale will be epic, on the level of Game of Thrones.
The show was set to air its finale on April 12th, but like so many other events, was postponed by the studio due to the editing and special effects crews not being able to get in the studio to finish the episode. It feels like we are getting closer to seeing it though!
In a recent interview with EW, members of the Walking Dead family talked up the finale, with Reedus saying:
“It's going to be an epic battle. It’s like a full-on Game of Thrones super war battle.”
Jeffrey Dean Morgan confirmed:
“It’s going to be a big massive episode.”
And episode director Greg Nicotero added:
“It’s a really amazing episode. I love the way episode 15 ends where you see Beta bringing the herd to the tower where everybody is holed up. There’s a lot teed up, so to speak.”
Reedus went on to talk about the taxing nature of the series on the actors, and how this finale compares to other episodes:
“It was a lot of fun to shoot, but we really pushed the crew and pushed the actors on that one. Everyone really had to dig deep because... talk about exhausting episodes! There were huge battle scenes until the wee hours of the morning consistently, and it looks so grand on an epic scale. Those battle scenes are going to be legendary.
“They really stick it to us on that show. But it always pays off. This show will go down in history. And I feel like every time we get to a finale or even a mid-season finale, we could be in over our heads, but there's a confidence there and everybody really brings it.”
I have loved this season so much, and after some slower seasons (for the world of The Walking Dead), I feel like 10 came back with a vengeance! I have loved how the story was pushed so much further than I expected, and I can’t wait to see how it will wrap up!
We still don’t have a date for the finale, but between the cast and crew buzzing, and Hollywood slowly reopening, I feel like we will know soon! Are you excited for the finale? What do you think will happen?
