NVIDIA and Tencent Games are Teaming Up for START Cloud Gaming Service

NVIDIA and Tencent Games made a recent announcement that’s exciting. The two companies will be working together on Tencent’s START game streaming service. START is being designed for China at the moment and will offer AAA games to anyone with an internet connection. If you know about Google Stadia, it sounds like it’s the same deal. NVIDIA will be powering START with high-end parts to provide a high-end gaming experience without consumers having to buy expensive rigs. Jeff Fisher from NVIDIA said:

As one of the leading global platforms for game development, publishing and operations, Tencent Games is set to deliver amazing cloud gaming. Combining the Tencent platform with NVIDIA’s GPU technology will provide a world-class experience for gamers everywhere.

Steven Ma of Tencent Games released the following statement:

NVIDIA’s leadership in building the world’s most powerful GPUs paired with their experience in cloud solutions will empower us to scale our START platform to millions of gamers. Today marks a new opportunity for our companies to further push the frontiers of gaming.

There’s no release date for START yet, but it’s sure to be something. Hopefully, it can have a smoother launch than Stadia.
