nWay Announces POWER RANGERS: BATTLE FOR THE GRID League for ESports

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is a fun fighting game. Now, it looks like nWay wants to kick things up a notch as today, they are announcing an eSports league for the game: Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid League. Starting this month, local communities will be able to participate in sanctioned events where players can compete to climb the leaderboard and gain medals.

During local and online events, players can gain Grid Points which will determine their place on the leaderboard. At the end of the season, the seven highest-ranked players will be able to compete for the tile of Champion at Evolution 2020 in August in Las Vegas. But wait, that’s an uneven number. Well, nWay will be holding a last chance qualifier tournament before Evolution 2020 and the winner of that will be the eighth fighter at Evolution 2020.

The first sanctioned event will happen on January 17 at Frosty Faustings in Chicago. If you are interested, head over to the official site. You can find more information about the League in general at their official site as well and I have put all planned stops below. Who is your team of 3 that you’ll use to kick the competition’s butt?

  • Frosty Faustings (January 17-18, Chicago)

  • Final Round (March 20-22, Atlanta)

  • NorCal Regionals (April 10-12, San Jose)

  • April Annihilation (April 10-12, New Jersey)

  • ComboBreaker (May 23-25, Chicago)

  • CEO Gaming (June 26-28, Orlando)

  • Evolution 2020 (July 31 - August 1, Las Vegas)

Introducing the very first Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid League! The series has nWay teaming up with local communities to bring competitors from around the nation together through sanctioned tournaments. Players will accumulate Grid Points by competing in a series of sanctioned community-driven offline and online events, as well as through in-game challenges from the game's Episodes feature.
