OBI-WAN KENOBI: Hayden Christensen Says the Extent of Darth Vader's Journey "Remains to Be Seen"

One of the most exciting aspects of Lucasfilm’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series is the fact that Darth Vader will be heavily involved in the story and Hayden Christensen is back to reprise his role! I’m looking forward to seeing another part of this iconic villain’s story being told.

During a recent interview with Total Film, Christensen was asked about coming back to the franchise after all these years and he said:

"When George [Lucas] had brought me onto the prequels, it was to play Anakin. He gets knighted as Darth Vader towards the end, and for a couple of scenes I get to put the suit on. But my journey with the character was with Anakin Skywalker. But the character? He’s such a complex character. And now, getting to explore the mindset and the emotional state of Darth Vader, has been a lot of fun.

The actor obviously isn’t going to reveal any major story details, and when asked if James Earl Jones would return to provide the voice of the character, Christensen said, “No comment.” But, I think it’s safe to assume that he will be back.

Christensen also won't confirm reports that he will return for the new Ashoka spin-off series, but he does tease that his own journey with Vader may not be over just yet:

"The extent of this journey, I think, remains to be seen. But what a privilege to get to come back and do this, and to be a part of this project."

I imagine that Obi-Wan Kenobi won’t be the last time that we see Vader in action in these live-action Star Wars shows!
