OBI-WAN KENOBI Rumors Tease Possible Post-Credit Scenes
A new rumor has surfaced regarding Lucasfilm’s series Obi-Wan Kenobi and a post-credits scene that will supposedly be attached to the second episode. Before I dig into this and share the details that have surfaced, I just want to throw out a spoiler warning for those of you who clicked through thinking there were no spoilers.
The following information originated from Making Star Wars and the post-credits scene involves the introduction of Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader into the series.
In the second episode of the series, “Kenobi begins to rediscover himself and his powers.” It’s explained that Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and ten-year-old Princess Leia reuniting causes a disturbance in the force. That disturbance is felt by Vader.
The report says “we see some murky water and then the ugly eye of Anakin Skywalker opens into frame. We are left with the ominous feeling Kenobi and Organa have awoken the beast.”
This is in line with previous reports we’ve heard about Leia Organa of Alderaan playing a “big” part in the series and these are the rumored details that were previously shared:
We have learned that Obi-Wan will have an important mission in the series that involve none other than her highnessness, Princess Leia! As we know, the Kenobi series takes place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, so this will be a 10-year-old Leia in the series.
Additionally, we’ve learned that the princess managed to get herself into trouble, even at this young age. From what we’ve heard, it appears that the princess is being held prisoner in a Cantina-like establishment where we will see a healthy mixture of new and familiar creatures.
Of course, Obi-Wan’s task will be to rescue the princess. With a young Leia’s significant involvement in the series, we know that her adopted parents will also play a role. As we all know, Bail Organa adopted Leia after her birth, so actor Jimmy Smits who played the Senator in the prequels and returned for 2016’s Rogue One, will also make an important appearance.
The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The series also stars Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor, and Joby Harold.
The series will debut on May 27th, and will launch with the first two episodes.
