OBSESSION Star Inde Navarrette Reportedly Being Eyed to Play Rogue in Marvel's X-MEN

Marvel Studios is inching closer to putting its new X-Men team together, and the latest casting rumor points to an actress who has quickly become one of Hollywood's rising stars.

Following her breakout performance in Obsession, Inde Navarrette is reportedly on Marvel's radar for one of the franchise's most beloved mutants.

The speculation started after Navarrette revealed during a recent interview that she's been meeting with several directors while deciding what project to tackle next. One of those filmmakers just so happens to be Jake Schreier, who directed Thunderbolts and is now set to helm Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men reboot.

Now, scooper MyTimeToShineHello is reporting that Marvel is "rushing to cast" the film, with Navarrette "being eyed" to play Rogue. The same report also claims that Millie Bobby Brown is currently in talks with Marvel Studios for an undisclosed role.

As always with Marvel casting rumors, it's worth taking this with a grain of salt. Even if the studio is interested in Navarrette, it doesn't mean she'll end up signing on. After the attention she's received for Obsession, she likely has no shortage of exciting opportunities coming her way.

Still, Rogue would certainly be an interesting fit. Marvel's X-Men reboot isn't expected to begin filming until sometime next year, but reports suggest pre-production could kick off before the end of 2026.

If that's accurate, it makes sense that the studio would be ramping up its search for the actors who'll make up its next generation of mutants.

While Marvel hasn't officially announced any casting decisions, it's believed the process is well underway, and it probably won't be long before the major trades begin revealing who is actually testing or being considered for these highly sought-after roles.

There's also the possibility that fans could meet some of these new mutants before the X-Men movie even arrives. According to recent claims from Cryptic4KQual, Avengers: Secret Wars will feature "new mutants different from the Doomsday cast," suggesting Marvel could use the event film to introduce fresh faces before spinning them off into their own franchise.

Current rumors continue to suggest the core lineup will stay true to the original comic book team, with Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Angel, and Iceman leading the charge. Other fan-favorite mutants, including Rogue, Mystique, Gambit, and Jubilee, are also expected to appear in some capacity.

As for the rest of the rumored casting, Hunter Schafer continues to be linked to Mystique, while Cynthia Erivo is still mentioned as a possible Storm. More recent reports have also connected Odessa A'zion with Rogue and Wagner Moura with the villainous Mr. Sinister.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently confirmed that this new version of the team will lean much younger than previous live-action iterations. Speaking with Collider, he explained:

"Jake’s an incredibly smart guy, and he’s an incredibly talented filmmaker. We had a great experience with him on Thunderbolts, and if you saw that movie, what he did with those character interactions—he also has his pulse on, shall we say, a younger demographic... because X-Men, as it was in the comics, will be a very youth-oriented, focused and cast movie."

That direction certainly makes the recent wave of casting rumors feel a lot more believable. Marvel appears to be looking for younger actors who can grow with the franchise over the next decade, and Navarrette fits that vision perfectly.

For now, it's all still rumor, but if Marvel is indeed considering Navarrette for Rogue, it'll be interesting to see whether she ultimately joins the MCU or chooses a different path.
