OBSTACLES, OBSTRUCTIONS, AND ORDEALS Offer Non-Combat Encounters for Your D&D Party to Overcome

Sometimes, when trying to prepare for your Dungeons & Dragons game as the DM, you want to put obstacles in front of your party that aren’t just more monsters for them to fight. Sometimes you don’t even want puzzles (not me, I freaking love puzzles). Enter Obstacles, Obstructions, and Ordeals by Steve “Jaspor” Orr and Bill Putrino. This is an unofficial supplement that includes 15 obstacles you can use in an obstacle course or in that castle your villain lives in or wherever. There are also rules for scoring the players for how they get through the obstacle (typically meant for it being an obstacle course). This is a fun supplement that I think DMs should probably have in their toolbelt.

The life of an adventurer is filled with risk and reward. Hostile creatures, deadly traps, and hidden dangers lurk around every corner. Sometimes the obstacle may be out in the open, but that doesn't make it any less challenging. Spike pits, pendulum blades, and gauntlets of shooting arrows let the hero know what they're up against, but they still must find a way to overcome the obstacle.

You can purchase Obstacles, Obstructions, and Ordeals from DMs Guild for $3.95.
