Oculus VR Adding New Hand-Tracking Interface

Last week, pioneering hardware company Oculus VR announced on their blog that they have acquired an Israeli company by the name of Pebbles Interface. These engineering geniuses have developed a custom optic sensor system that can track hand motion down to individual fingers without the use of controllers or gloves. While still in a very simple stage, the possibilities of making this available with every Oculus VR Headset opens up a huge world of new ideas that developers can take advantage of. I've had my fair share of experiences with VR headsets from many different manufacturers, and reading hand motions is the one thing that has been missing from truly enveloping a gamer in virtual reality! There is no word yet on when we can start seeing these sensors available in Oculus VR dev-kits, but I can't wait to see what creative programmers can do with it. It is one hell of a time to be a gamer!
