Official AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Concept Art Unveils Doctor Doom, The Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Loki

Marvel Studios has officially released concept art for Avengers: Doomsday, and there's a lot to unpack. While we've caught glimpses of many of these characters through leaked promotional artwork and a few teaser reveals, this is easily the clearest and most exciting look we've had at the film so far.

The artwork debuted during Marvel Studios' presentation at the Shanghai Expo in China, and it delivers an incredible lineup of heroes standing together as they prepare to take on Doctor Doom.

Front and center is our first official look at Doctor Doom, but the villain isn't the only major reveal. The artwork is packed with familiar faces from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the X-Men universe, and the Fantastic Four, giving fans a preview of the massive crossover event that's on the way.

The New Avengers are all present, including Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Bucky Barnes, Ghost, U.S. Agent, and Bob. Thor is also featured alongside Ant-Man and Steve Rogers, who is once again wielding Mjolnir.

The X-Men are represented by Cyclops, Gambit, Mystique, Beast, Magneto, and Professor X, while the Fantastic Four team consists of Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Thing, and Human Torch.

There's also another group that appears to be Sam Wilson's Avengers. At the moment, the lineup seems to include The Falcon, Shang-Chi, Shuri as Black Panther, and King M'Baku.

One detail fans definitely won't want to miss is hidden beneath Doctor Doom. If you look closely, you'll spot Loki continuing to power the Multiverse, suggesting he still has a major role to play in everything that's about to unfold.

Loki and Ant-Man are particularly interesting additions because they hadn't appeared in any of the previously leaked promotional artwork. Their presence here could hint that both characters will be far more important to the story than many fans expected.

According to X user @QiaoPM, who shared the photo, "During the Q&A session on site, Kevin Feige stated that Yelena would have a significant role, that he called RDJ to play Doctor Doom, and mentioned that after Secret Wars, mutants will appear."

That comment lines up with the growing expectation that Yelena Belova will become one of the central figures in the next Avengers saga, while Avengers: Secret Wars may ultimately open the door for mutants to fully enter the MCU moving forward.

As exciting as the artwork is, it's still concept art, so some character designs and story details could evolve before the movie reaches theaters. Even so, it offers our best preview yet of just how enormous this crossover is shaping up to be.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Joe Russo and Anthony Russo return to direct both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, continuing the creative partnership that previously delivered the Captain America and Avengers films.

The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer.

Avengers: Doomsday is currently set to hit theaters on December 18.
