Official Concept Art Shared For Marvel's HAWKEYE Series Featuring Kate Bishop
Marvel Studios concept artist Andy Park has shared some official art that he created for the upcoming Hawkeye series for Disney+. The art offers a new look at Kate Bishop, who will reportedly be played by Bumblebee star Hailee Steinfeld. It’s been rumored that she’s officially signed on for the role, but we still have yet to have confirmation.
As you can see in the art, Bishop's costume is very similar to the outfit her comic book counterpart wore when she took up the mantle of Hawkeye in Allan Heinberg's Young Avengers. There are just a few minor alterations. I imagine the final design of the character that we see in the series will feature more differences.
Marvel recently has hired Troop Zero directors, Bert and Bertie a.k.a. Amber Finlayson (Bert) and Katie Ellwood (Bertie), and Saturday Night Live and Comrade Detective director Rhys Thomas, to helm some episodes of its upcoming Disney+ Hawkeye series.
Jeremy Renner is set to reprise his role as Clint Barton. We don’t know what exactly the series will entail or what the story will involve, but we do know that Hawkeye will train Kate to become a badass warrior. In the comics, Kate has a high level of skill in archery, sword fighting, and unarmed combat. Kate also possesses a significant stock of fighting weapons.
It was also reported earlier this week that the Marvel villain Clown will play a role in the story.
The series is set to be released in fall 2021 on Disney+ as part of Marvel’s Phase Four round of releases. All of the Marvel shows that are being produced will tie directly into the MCU movies, and they are being produced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Mad Men scribe Jonathan Igla is writing the series.
