Official Promo Image for The CW's Live-Action POWERPUFF GIRLS Series
The CW has released the first official promo image for the live-action Powerpuff Girls series. We already shared some set photos, but this gives us our first real look at what we can expect from the polished look of the characters for the show.
The image features Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perrault as Buttercup. The series will catch up with Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, “who used to be America’s pint-sized superheroes but now are disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?”
The series will also star Donald Faison as Professor Drake Utonium and Nicholas Podany as Mojo Jojo Jr.
The show is based on the original Cartoon Network animated series and characters created by Craig McCracken. Heather Regnier (Veronica Mars) and Diablo Cody (Juno) have written the script for the pilot, and Maggie Kiley is set to direct. Regnier, Cody, and Kiley will all executive produce alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden.
