Official Plot Details Revealed For The BUMBLEBEE Movie and John Cena Joins The Cast
Paramount Pictures just announced that their Bumblebee Transformers spinoff movie has started production. In that announcement, they reveal that John Cena is taking on a lead role in the film. He will star alongside Hailee Steinfeld, Jorge Lendeborg, Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Ricardo Hoyos and Gracie Dzienny. The studio also offered up the first official plot synopsis:
The story is set in the year 1987, where Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
I'm not the biggest fan of the Transformers movie. Hell, I still haven't even seen the last one. There's one thing about this Bumblebee movie that actually gives me hope, and that's the fact that it's being directed by Travis Knight, the same guy who directed Kubo and the Two Strings. He's proven to be a talented director and I hope that he can pull off a solid Bumblebee movie. Judging from the synopsis, it sounds like it could be fun!
What do you think about the direction they are taking the film? Do you think this actually has a shot at being a good movie?
