Official Synopsis for STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER Teases a Future Final Battle
We’ve been told time and time again that J.J. Abrams’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker would close out the Skywalker Saga that George Lucas started in 1977. Well, according to a recently released synopsis for the film, this movie will set up some interesting and possibly bigger things to come.
This synopsis is sure to get fans talking and you can check it out below:
Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams join forces once again to take viewers on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, where new legends will be born and the final battle for freedom is yet to come. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens in U.S. theaters on December 20.
So, this film, which is a conclusion to the Skywalker story, is going to give birth to “new legends” and set up a “final battle for freedom,” which “is yet to come.” Even though the Skywalker saga is coming to a close, the story will continue in some way toward a final battle for freedom. At least that’s what it sounds like to me! Maybe I’m misinterpreting it, but you can tell me if you read it the same way or if I’m full of shit.
As of right now there are release dates already set for the next three Star Wars films through 2026, the first of those is coming from D.B. Weiss and David Benioff. Then I’m sure one of them will come from Rian Johnson. As for the third, maybe it will be the one to continue the the story that The Rise of Skywalker will set up.
Regardless, I’m curious to see what Lucasfilm has planned for the future of Star Wars and what other filmmakers will be jumping onto the franchise to bring these future movies to life.
