Official Title Revealed for James Cameron's AVATAR 2 and the Trailer Drops Next Week
During Disney’s CinemaCon 2022 presentation they revealed that the title of James Cameron’s Avatar sequel is Avatar: The Way of Water. They also screened the first trailer in 3D at the event and revealed that the trailer will be released next week, but the only way you’ll be able to watch it is in theaters when you go see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Producer Jon Landau showed up to talk about the film ,saying, “One of the strengths of Jim Cameron’s scripts is they are always universal and relatable themes that he weaves into them.”
He went on to talk about the story saying, “At the center of each of the four sequels will be the Sully family. Each story will be a stand-alone and each will come to its own conclusion.” He also adds that there will be a “fulfilling resolution to each film, but when looked at as a whole the journey across all four will create a larger epic saga.”
We also saw a video of Cameron, who is still working on the film and he shared that he was “hard at work putting the final touches on the film.” He then says he is “pushing limits even farther with high frame rate, higher resolution 3D and greater reality in our visual effects. I wanted our return to Pandora to be something really special. Every shot is designed for the biggest screen, highest resolution and most immersive 3D available. I think we pulled it off.”
As for the trailer, the footage looked great! It was seriously visually stunning, and I was in awe by what I was seeing. This is going to be a beautiful film.
In the film, “Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) lives with his newfound family formed on the planet of Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and the army of the Na’vi race to protect their planet.”
Avatar: The Way of Water hits theaters on December 14th, 2022.
