ONCE UPON A TIME Will End After Current Season

Once Upon a Time first aired in 2011 and is on its seventh, and final, season. This comes as no surprise since for this season they really shook things up with the story considering their main actors had left before the current season. I came in late to the show, I think it was season 4 (the one with Frozen characters) and it was ok. It really bugged me though when almost every season they started using a case of amnesia to create the mystery of the season. These two factors (the main cast leaving and what I consider to be lazy writing) make the announcement made by co-creator Adam Horowitz on Twitter, not a surprise at all. I’ve seen parts of the earlier seasons and while some of the stories seemed weak, the overall premise was strong and there seemed to be more good than bad moments. The premise was definitely interesting, but I’m glad they’re not going to drag it out anymore. Too many shows are dragged out because they’re popular and that’s a problem. It creates lazy writing which can turn fans into haters depending on how poorly the writing goes. I’m glad this show is ending before it goes too far off the rails. The seventh season will continue on March 2, 2018 on ABC.
