One of The Heartbreaking Scenes in ARCANE Season 2 Was Hand-Drawn "Entirely in Charcoal"
Another detail has been revealed about Arcane Season 2 that is going to make fans appreciate the epic fantasy animated series even more.
Arcane's animation studio Fortiche has already received plenty of praise for its stunning animation, but this new reveal about one of its heartbreaking scenes is incredibly cool to learn about!
Fortiche shared an image on X of the Season 2 premiere scene that features Caitlyn (Katie Leung) mourning the loss of her mother after Jinx's attack on Piltover's Council.
It came with the note: "Did you know that this Caitlyn clip was entirely hand-drawn in charcoal? "Huge applause to our incredible artists for bringing every detail to life! Illustration by Fortiche artists Julien Georgel, Kevin Le Moigne & Anne-Laure To."
You can see the image for yourself below, and make sure to note that the only color in the scene involves purple-hued violets adorning Cassandra's casket and the red streaks of Vi's hair.
We just don’t see this kind of stuff in animation! Who is using charcoal in their animated projects!? No one except the team behind Arcane.
