ONE PIECE: HEROINES Trailer Puts Nami in the Spotlight for a New Anime Adventure Series

One Piece fans have a lot on their plate this year, and the franchise keeps finding new ways to expand its world. While the main anime continues its journey through the highly anticipated Elbaph Arc, another project is preparing to set sail this summer, and this time Nami is taking center stage.

A new trailer has been released for One Piece: Heroines, an upcoming spinoff anime that focuses on a story never featured in Eiichiro Oda’s original manga.

The special episode shines a light on the Straw Hat Pirates’ navigator as she finds herself wrapped up in a surprisingly personal challenge involving a pair of shoes that simply don’t fit the way they should.

The anime is based on the novel One Piece: Heroines, written by Jun Esaka and illustrated by Sayaka Suwa. The book explores original stories centered on several of the series’ most popular female characters, offering fans a chance to spend more time with characters who often operate outside the main spotlight. For the anime adaptation, however, the focus will be entirely on Nami’s story.

The special adapts the novel’s “Episode: Nami” chapter, following her quest to track down the designer responsible for the troublesome footwear.

It’s a smaller-scale story compared to the massive battles and world-shaking events currently unfolding in the main series, but it offers a different kind of adventure that should be fun for longtime fans.

There are also a few additions being made specifically for the anime version. In the original novel, Nami was the only Straw Hat featured in this particular story, but the adaptation will also bring Nico Robin into the mix. That extra character interaction should give fans another reason to check out the special.

The project is being produced by Toei Animation with Haruka Kamatami directing. Character designs are being handled by Takashi Kojima, while Momoka Toyoda is overseeing the script. The voice cast will also introduce some new characters, including Maaya Sakamoto as Miucha and Takehito Koyasu as Lubun.

One Piece: Heroines is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 5, 2026. At the time of writing, international streaming plans have not been announced.

Of course, this is only one piece of a much larger puzzle for the franchise. Alongside the ongoing Elbaph Arc episodes, Netflix has additional One Piece content on the way, including a new LEGO special arriving this fall.

In 2027, Netflix is expected to launch The One Piece, the highly anticipated remake anime series, which is currently slated to debut in February. Later that same year, fans can also look forward to the third season of the live-action adaptation, titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta.

Between the main anime, a growing slate of spinoffs, the live-action series, and the upcoming remake, One Piece continues to prove that its momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
