ONE PIECE Live-Action Adaptation Gets a Fun Teaser Trailer
Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming live-action adaptation of the hit manga series One Piece. The series actually looks like it might be a lot of fun! The anime series is great and this adaptation definitely makes an attempt to capture that same energy. We’ll just have to wait and see if the creative team will be able to effectively pull it off.
One Piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his pirate crew as they explore a fantastical world of endless oceans and exotic islands in search of the world’s ultimate treasure known as “One Piece” to become the next Pirate King.
The other main characters include Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson), and Sanji (Taz Skylar).
Steven Maeda is a co-writer, showrunner, and executive producer on the series along with Matt Owens, who is also co-writing and executive producing. The series also stars Morgan Davies (The Evil Dead) as Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino (The Sex Lives of College Girls) as Alvida, Aidan Scott (Action Point) as Helmeppo, Jeff Ward (Hacks) as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III (Ozark) as Arlong, and Vincent Regan (Troy) as Garp.
The 10-episode series comes from Tomorrow Studios and One Piece publisher Shueisha. Open Iece will be released on August 31st! Excited?!
