ONE PIECE Season 2 Casts Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha and Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk

Netflix’s live-action One Piece series has announced two new cast members for Season 2, and I think fans are going to like this casting.

Katey Sagal (Married With Children, Sons of Anarchy) is set to take on the role of Dr. Kureha and Mark Harelik (Presumed Innocent) will play Dr. Hiriluk.

There’s been a lot of excitement for the introduction of Dr. Kureha in Season 2, and Jamie Lee Curtis was originally approached for the role and wanted to do it. Unfortunately, her schedule didn’t allow for it to happen.

Everything worked out in the end, though, because Sagal is going to be awesome in the role! In fact, I’m more sold on her in the roile than I am Curtis, so everything worked out for the better.

One Piece executive producers Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements previously teased the casting saying: “We have found an amazing person”, and they really have.

Kureha is an ally of the Straw Hat Pirates and she is a doctor on Drum Island where she is the head of the Isshi-100. Hiriluk is a thief-turned-Drum Island doctor.

Sagal and Harelik join previously announced new cast members Brendan Sean Murray as Brogy, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Clive Russell as Crocus, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, Ty Keogh as Dalton, and Werner Coetser as Dorry.

Returning are stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger.

In the series, “Monkey D. Luffy is a young adventurer who has longed for a life of freedom since he can remember. Luffy sets off from his small village on a perilous journey to find the legendary fabled treasure, One Piece, to become King of the Pirates!

“But in order to find the ultimate prize, Luffy will need to assemble the crew he’s always wanted before finding a ship to sail, searching every inch of the vast seas, outpacing the Marines, and outwitting dangerous rivals at every turn.”

One Piece Season 2 is about two months into production in Cape Town, South Africa.
