ONE PIECE Season 2 May Be Coming Later This Year!
It looks like Netflix’s live-action One Piece might be setting sail for its Season 2 return sooner than expected. Thanks to an accidental update from Netflix, we’ve got a hint that the wait for new episodes won’t be as long as we initially thought.
The show made a massive splash when it first premiered and became one of Netflix’s biggest hits of 2023. But the timing of its debut, which was smack in the middle of the SAG-AFTRA strike, caused a slight delay in kicking off production for Season 2.
Despite this, it seems like the gears started turning fast once the greenlight was given last summer. Reports even suggest filming wrapped last year, which brings us to the exciting possibility of new episodes arriving much sooner than expected.
The buzz started when Netflix recently announced a One Piece collaboration with LEGO through its TUDUM platform. The announcement included a now-removed tease that read: “...bring you treasures you can cherish while you wait for new episodes of ONE PIECE, which arrive later this year.”
While the statement has since been removed and edited, fans caught the detail, sparking speculation that Season 2 could drop in 2025, which is exciting!
In the series, “Monkey D. Luffy is a young adventurer who has longed for a life of freedom since he can remember. Luffy sets off from his small village on a perilous journey to find the legendary fabled treasure, One Piece, to become King of the Pirates!
“But in order to find the ultimate prize, Luffy will need to assemble the crew he’s always wanted before finding a ship to sail, searching every inch of the vast seas, outpacing the Marines, and outwitting dangerous rivals at every turn.”
Returning cast members include Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger.
