ONE PIECE Season 3 May Already Be in the Works, According to New Report
While fans eagerly await the release of One Piece Season 2, now that filming has wrapped, there’s already talk of a third season in development. A new report suggests that Netflix is moving full steam ahead with the Straw Hat Pirates' journey, and it might be coming sooner than expected.
A recent update from the Writers Guild of America they list One Piece Season 3 as an upcoming project, hinting that work on the next chapter is already underway.
The information was shared by One Piece insider @pewpiece on X, revealing that the series is scheduled for 2025-2026. According to the WGA listing, Joseph E. Tracz and Matt Owens will return as showrunners and executive producers.
This strongly suggests that Netflix is planning a quick turnaround for Season 3, likely aiming for a release shortly after Season 2. Given the success of the first season as it became an instant global hit, it's no surprise that the streaming giant is keeping the momentum going.
Season 1 adapted the story up through the Arlong Park Arc, ending with the crew setting sail toward the Grand Line. Season 2 is set to pick up from the Loguetown Arc, a key story point in One Piece lore. Loguetown is where Gol D. Roger, the King of the Pirates, was both born and executed.
Beyond Loguetown, the crew’s journey will take them into the Grand Line, covering arcs like Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island. Each of these introduces key characters and builds the stakes leading into what could be Season 3’s primary focus, the Arabasta Arc.
If the rumors are true, Season 3 will bring a fan-favorite One Piece storyline to life. The Arabasta Arc sees the crew arriving on a vast desert island, caught in the middle of a nation’s civil war. Here, they face off against one of the most powerful pirates in the Grand Line.
This part of the story will also introduce two new crew members, marking a major shift for the Straw Hats as they continue to grow. There’s a lot of adventure to cover and fans have been hoping that Netflix will keep it going!
While Netflix has yet to officially confirm Season 3, the WGA listing is enough to get fans excited about One Piece being around for the long haul.
For now, fans can look forward to Season 2 arriving later this year.
