We’ve got some really fun news for fans of the 1984 movie Beverly Hills Cop. Some of the original cast members are coming back for Netflix’s upcoming sequel, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, and they include Judge Reinhold as Detective Billy Rosewood; John Ashton as Sgt. John Taggart; Paul Reiser who played Axel Foley’s Detroit cop partner, Jeffrey Friedman in the first two films; and Bronson Pinchot, who played the sassy art gallery salesman. They join returning star Eddie Murphy, as well as newcomers to the franchise Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Taylour Paige.

Mark Molloy is directing from a script written by Will Beall. Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman are producing for Jerry Bruckheimer Films along with Murphy.

The sequel logline is still under wraps, but the film is currently shooting in California. Hopefully we will hear more about it soon. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley is set to be released on Netflix in 2023.
