Orlando Bloom to Star in Boxing Thriller THE CUT From Director Sean Ellis

Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) is set to star in the boxing thriller The Cut, from director Sean Ellis (Anthropoid). Bloom will portray a boxer who comes out of retirement in the psychological thriller to vie for his championship title through a grueling and unsanctioned weight cut program with a coach who knows no limits, alienating himself from reality and loved ones, as he spirals out of control.

The adapted screenplay is written by Justin Bull (Little Rituals), based on a story by Mark Lane. Filming is due to start in summer 2023 in Nevada.

Bloom recently wrapped production on Gran Turismo, which will be released by Sony Pictures, and A24’s Wizards!. Recent credits include Retaliation and The Outpost, and he will next be seen in Season 2 of Amazon’s Carnival Row, on which he is also an executive producer.
