Oscar Isaac and Michelle Williams to Star in Limited Series Adaptation of SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE at HBO

Oscar Isaac (Star Wars, Triple Frontier) and Michelle Williams (The Greatest Showman, Fosse/Verdon) have signed on to star in the upcoming limited series adaptation of Scenes From a Marriage. The original limited series aired in 1974 on Swedish TV and was written and directed by Ingmar Bergman. A report from Variety explains that the new series is looking to “re-examine the show’s depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple.”

Williams and Isaac will also executive produce the project alongside writer and director Hagai Levi, who created the series The Affair, In Therapy, and In Treatment. It’s early on in the development of the series, so we don’t have many details yet, but stay tuned.
