Oscar Isaac Is Developing His Own Comic Book Titled HEAD WOUNDS: SPARROW
Oscar Isaac is jumping into the comic book business and is developing a new comic titled Head Wounds: Sparrow. As you’ll see, the main character in the story, Leo Guidry, looks exactly like him.
The comic is being developed by Legendary Comics, and the plan is to eventually develop it into a live-action film with Isaac to star. I guess he’s following in the footsteps of Keanu Reeves, who recently announced his own comic BRZRKR.
The story for Head Wounds: Sparrow comes from John Alvey, and the script is being written by comics writer Brian Buccellato, with Isaac as producer/developer. Christian Ward will create the art. Here’s the synopsis that was shared:
Leo Guidry is a bad person and an even worse cop. When he suffers a psychic head wound, his life on the edge slips into spiritual warfare. In a landscape of angels, devils, and everything in between, can a person utterly devoid of empathy find a way to overcome the forces of darkness that have infiltrated his reality? This is the world of Head Wounds: Sparrow."
The story is actually based on the real-life experiences of a childhood friend of Isaac and Alvey, Bob Johnson. Legendary explains:
"When diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin lymphoma and as a way to cope, Johnson turned to his passion of writing and created the character of Leo. Inspired by a dream, Johnson conceived the supernatural affliction that haunts Leo throughout the story and forces him to face his own past trauma and lack of empathy."
Head Wounds: Sparrow is scheduled to go on sale in early 2021.
