Oscar Isaac Talks About the Difference Between Spider-Man 2099 and All the Others in SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE

Oscar Isaac is on top of the world right now with a hit show on Disney+, and he is going to be a huge part of the upcoming Into the Spider-Verse sequels as Miguel O’Hara, better known as Spider-Man 2099. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Isaac talks about the difference between him and the other Spider-people in the series:

“It's been really fun working on that with Phil Lord and Kemp Powers. The thing I can say is, what makes this character so funny is that he's the one Spider-Man that doesn't have a sense of humor. Because all of them act like — they're like wisecracks, right? Everybody wisecracks, except this guy just doesn't. He's a very serious Spider-Man.”

Every great comedy needs a great straight man and he is the perfect fit. We were able see the first 15 minutes of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and his performance is on point.

We first caught a glimpse into Isaac’s character at the end of Into the Spider-Verse when he finds out through his assistant Lyla that Miles was able to save the multiverse. With that, Lyla gives Miguel a goober or gizmo that will complete an “autonomous multiverse jump” where he finds himself in Earth-67 arguing with a Spider-Man who cannot have someone pointing at him.

I am excited to see Across/Beyond the Spider-verse. It will be so much fun to see the 240 characters they bring to the movie. From what we have see so far, Miller and Lord are not going to let us down. Let us know what you think.
