Oscar Isaac Will Be Joining Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE
Oscar Isaac (Star Wars) is the latest actor to join director Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic Dune.
He’s currently in negotiations to take on the role of Duke Leto Atreides. He was well-known because of his even-handed and compassionate leadership style. He is also the father of Timothee Chalamet’s character, Paul Atreides. He also joins Rebecca Ferguson, who playing Atreides’ mother, Lady Jessica. Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, and Charlotte Rampling. have also been cast in the film.
Set in the distant future, Dune follows Paul Atreides, whose family assumes control of the desert planet Arrakis. As the only producer of a highly valuable resource, jurisdiction over Arrakis is contested among competing noble families. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship with nature, as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s reign.
Isaac is a very talented actor, and this is sure to be another great film project for him to jump on board. What do you think about the actor taking on this role?
