Oscar Isaac's Neo-Noir Film THE CARD COUNTER Gets 3 Clips and Some Character Posters

We’ve got three new clips to share with for Oscar Isaac‘s upcoming drama, The Card Counter, from writer and director Paul Schrader, who previously wrote Raging Bull and The Last Temptation of Christ, as well as wrote and directed American Gigolo and First Reformed. I’ve also include three character posters featuring the main characters of the movie.

The Card Counter has been in the works for a while, having to previously shut down production due to Covid, but it is has now wrapped up production, and is getting ready to hit the screen. The film stars Isaac, as well as Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan, and Willem Dafoe.

The filmmaker’s past collaborator Martin Scorsese serves as executive producer and this is the film’s synopsis:

Tell (Isaac) just wants to play cards. His spartan existence on the casino trail is shattered when he is approached by Cirk (Sheridan), a vulnerable and angry young man seeking help to execute his plan for revenge on a military colonel (Dafoe). Tell sees a chance at redemption through his relationship with Cirk. Gaining backing from mysterious gambling financier La Linda (Haddish), Tell takes Cirk with him on the road, going from casino to casino until the unlikely trio set their sights on winning a World Series of poker tournament. But keeping Cirk on the straight-and-narrow proves impossible, dragging Tell back into the darkness of his past.

This movie looks and sounds like it will be a success considering its fantastic cast and creator. The Card Counter is set to hit theaters on September 10th. Are you looking forward to it?
