Osgood Perkins Casts Tatiana Maslany, Johnny Knoxville, Heather Graham, and Brendan Hines in New Horror Film THE YOUNG PEOPLE
Osgood Perkins is building one seriously intriguing lineup for his next film. His new project, The Young People, has just added an impressive group of stars that include Brendan Hines, Tatiana Maslany, Johnny Knoxville, Heather Graham, Cush Jumbo, Lexi Minetree, and Lily Collias.
The will join the already announced Lola Tung and Nico Parker. Perkins, who wrote and will direct the film, is continuing his strong partnership with NEON, which will release The Young People theatrically in the U.S. Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps.
The project is the first film under the new first-look deal between NEON, Perkins, and his production company Phobos.
This collaboration follows the success of Perkins’ breakout hit Longlegs, which became the year’s highest-grossing independent film, pulling in a massive $75 million domestically. That momentum continued with The Monkey, another NEON release that scored the company’s second-biggest opening weekend at the box office.
Perkins and NEON clearly have a winning creative streak, and they’re not slowing down. The duo is already gearing up for their next project together, Keeper, which NEON is set to release on November 14.
While we don’t yet know what dark world Perkins is crafting for The Young People, with a cast this stacked and the filmmaker’s track record for unsettling, character-driven horror, it’s safe to say this one is going to be another crazy horror movie.
