Paizo Announces Two New Live-Play Shows for PATHFINDER and STARFINDER
Paizo has created the wonderful tabletop RPGs of Pathfinder and Starfinder. These games have strong followings, and I would love to dip my toes into them (stupid need to find time and people to play with). Well, Paizo is launching two new Live-Play shows this week, one for each game. In case you’re unfamiliar with the term, live-play shows are shows where you watch people play a tabletop RPG live, and you can enjoy their characters and stories. The most famous live-play show is probably Critical Role.
The first show is Starfinder: X.T.R.E.M.! and will feature Starfinder co-creator Amanda Hamon as the Game Master with John Compton, Payton Smith, Jason Tondro, and Andrew White as the players. The crazy thing is that each of the characters will be moonlighting as an amateur wrestler. This can only end in tears. The first stream will be on April 8 and run from 2-5 PM PT. The story will continue every Wednesday at the same time.
Starfinder: X.T.R.E.M.! follows the antics of the Pact Worlds-based amateur wrestling league, XenoTrouble wRestling Entertainment Matches (created specifically for this game!). Hence the name of the stream: X.T.R.E.M.!
The other new show is Pathfinder: Band of Bravos. This sees Jason Bulmahn as the Game Master with James Jacob, Jason Keeley, Maryssa Lagervall, and Smith serving as the players. Band of Bravos will premiere on April 10 at 2-5 PM PT with following streams happening every Friday.
[I]n Pathfinder: Band of Bravos, a troupe of performing adventurers find themselves hired to put on the show of a lifetime, but when the curtain rises, they quickly learn that they are the stars of a far more dangerous quest.
You can watch these series on the official Paizo Twitch at the aforementioned times. They will then be uploaded to YouTube a week later. I think I’m more excited for X.T.R.E.M.! if I’m perfectly honest. It sounds more ridiculous.
