Pamela Anderson Joins Billy Bob Thornton and Ariana Greenblatt in SOMEDAYS
Pamela Anderson is lining up another intriguing project. The actor has officially joined Tucker Tooley Entertainment’s Somedays, starring opposite Billy Bob Thornton and Ariana Greenblatt in a character-driven drama that’s currently shooting in New Jersey.
The film comes on the heels of a strong run for Anderson, who picked up multiple award nominations last year for her performance in The Last Showgirl, directed by Gia Coppola.
She followed that with a turn opposite Liam Neeson in last summer’s comeback comedy The Naked Gun, which pulled in more than $102 million worldwide for Paramount. Anderson has also recently wrapped work on Love Is Not the Answer, the feature directorial debut from Michael Cera.
Written and directed by Brian Klugman, Somedays centers on a worn-down delivery driver who’s been given just months to live. After saving a brilliant but troubled teenage girl, the two form an unexpected bond that reshapes how they see themselves and the time they have left.
Klugman spoke about the cast and Anderson’s role in particular, saying, “Pamela Anderson is a grounding life force who brings warmth care, and authentic strength to her work. Somedays is about characters at an emotional endpoint, forced forward by truth, forgiveness and vulnerability, and casting those roles required actors capable of carrying depth, pain, hope, love and humor all at once.
“Billy Bob is incapable of a false moment. His face and eyes tell a story all their own, while Ariana brings an innate human understanding coupled with unrestrained talent and wry fearlessness. Pamela was the final, essential piece, and together, it feels like a generational conversation unfolding on screen with three artists bringing their full lives into the lens.”
Producer Tucker Tooley echoed that enthusiasm, pointing to the script as something special from the start. “Every so often, a script emerges that embodies the perfect combination of humor, empathy, and poignancy, and even rarer are the opportunities to bring these projects to life.
“Somedays is exactly such a project, a deeply human story rooted in empathy and unlikely connection, the likes of which I haven’t seen since Harold & Maude. The exceptional cast of Billy Bob Thornton, Ariana Greenblatt, and Pamela Anderson is unparalleled, and I am honored to collaborate with them in bringing this story to the screen.”
This seems like another solid career move for Anderson.
