Paramount Pictures Sets Release Dates for SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 and New SMURFS Movie
Paramount Pictures has announced released dates for a couple of its upcoming family films. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is set to be released on December 20, 2024, and its Untitled Smurfs Animated Musical will drop on February 14, 2025.
So far, the Sonic franchise has been great! I never expected that first film to be as good and entertaining as was. Then the sequel ended up being as equally as good, so I’m looking forward to seeing what this third film in the franchise delivers.
The franchise revolves around a small-town police officer (James Marsden) and his blue hedgehog frind Sonic (Ben Schwartz) as they fight against Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey), an evil genius looking to make him the subject of his experiments.
When the third film was announced, Haruki Satomi, the CEO of Sega Corporation said in a statement: "We are delighted to announce that the third Sonic theatrical film and the first live action Sonic series for Paramount+ are being actively developed. We've got a remarkable partnership with Paramount, and we are excited to continue expanding the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise with them. 2022 is shaping up to be a significant year for the franchise with the second film being released this April, as well as Sonic Frontiers, the highly anticipated video game title, coming this holiday. Sonic has been beloved by fans across the world for over 30 years and we look forward to continuing to bring memorable moments and experiences to them for many years to come."
As for Smurfs, there are no details on what this new film will entail. But, I don’t really care for the Smurfs movies.
