Paramount+ Renews Its STAR TREK: PRODIGY Animated Series for a Second Season
Paramount+ has announced that the adventures for the crew of the U.S.S. Protostar will continue in a second season of the animated series Star Trek: Prodigy. Season 2 will consist of ten new episodes, and it will debut sometime next year.
I haven’t had a chance to watch the episodes that have been released so far in the first season yet, but I’ve been hearing lots of good things about it and I’m looking forward to watching it. As of right now, there are still five episodes that need to be released for Season 1.
The series follows “a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered – a first in the history of the Star Trek franchise – but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.”
The voice cast members include Kate Mulgrew as Hologram Janeway, Brett Gray as Dal, Ella Purnell as Gwyn, Angus Imrie as Zero, Rylee Alazraqui as Rok-Tahk, Dee Bradley Baker as Murf, and Jason Mantzoukas as Jankom Pog.
The series was developed by Kevin and Dan Hageman (Trollhunters and Ninjago), with Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Katie Krentz, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth on board as executive producers.
