PARASITE Director Bong Joon-ho Is Developing a Korean Horror/Action Film and a U.S. Drama

Parasite is easily one of the best films of the year. If you haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and go before it leaves theaters! If you’re a fans of director Bong Joon-ho‘s movies, you’ll be happy to learn that he’s currently developing two of them.

One of the projects is a Korean horror/action film ,and the other is an English-language U.S. drama based on a true story. The director doesn’t offer a lot of details on what these projects will be about, but he does say:

“I am preparing two different projects. One is a Korean-language one, and the other one is an English-language one. Both projects are not big films. They’re the size of '‘Parasite” or ‘Mother.’ The Korean film is located in Seoul and has unique elements of horror and action. It’s difficult to define the genre of my films. The English project is a drama film based on a true event that happened in 2016. Of course I won’t know until I finish the script, but it has to be set half in the U.K. and half in the U.S.”

Yeah, the details are vague but Joon-ho is a crazy talented filmmaker and storyteller, so I’m sure the films are going to end up being great. I can’t wait to see what stories these movies will tell.

If you saw Parasite, what did you think? Also, what are some of your other favorite Bong Joon-ho movies?
