Park Chan-wook To Direct an Ultra Violent Western Thriller For Amazon Called THE BRIGANDS OF RATTLECREEK

Oldboy director Park Chan-wook is set to direct an ultra violent western thriller for Amazon called The Brigands of Rattlecreek. The script for the film comes from S. Craig Zahler who wrote the awesomely insane film Bone Tomahawk. If you liked that movie, then you’re definitely going to want to see this one!

The story for the film follows a sheriff and a doctor “who seek revenge against a group of bandits who use the cover of a torrential thunderstorm to rob and terrorize the occupants of a small town. Zahler’s script topped the 2006 Black List but has languished in development, likely due to its violent content.”

Amazon and producer Bradley Fischer (Shutter Island) are also trying to get Matthew McConaughey to star in the film as the doctor, and they are also looking to cast another A-list star as the sheriff. This seems like the kind of film project that McConaughey would thrive in.

I’m also a fan of the writer and director. Park Chan-wook knows how to tell awesome dark and thrilling tales. What do you think about this next film project that he’s about to embark on?
