Patrick Stewart Says His Return to the Role of Professor X in the MCU Is a Possibility, Says "You Could Get Lucky"
Patrick Stewart seems like one of those actors who is so linked to a character he played, it would be nearly impossible to recast him. Stewart’s portrayal of Professor Charles Xavier, or Professor X in the X-Men film franchise is so iconic that I can’t imagine anyone else in the role at this point, especially after his cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but according to Stewart, we may not have to.
When asked about rumors of his return to Marvel for Avengers: Secret Wars, Stewart shared with Etalk (via CB):
"I cannot put it to rest because it's not a fact, either for or against. It is a possibility. Hugh Jackman and I looked upon Logan as being our farewell, given that I died in that film. Although I've been told I've actually died several times already."
He added, "Know that, and you could get lucky." Knowing that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is returning for Deadpool 3, it just doesn’t seem so far off to think that Stewart could also appear. Are you hoping to see him play Professor X again in the MCU?
