Patrick Wilson Set to Star in Stephen King's New Netflix Film IN THE TALL GRASS
Director Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice) is in the process of developing his film adaptation of Stephen King and Joe Hill's short story In The Tall Grass for Netflix. He is now casting the film and so far he has cast Patrick Wilson, Laysla De Oliveira (Needle In a Timestack) and Harrison Gilbertson (Picnic at Hanging Rock). James Marsden was originally set to star, but he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. I think Patrick Wilson is a great choice to bring on board!
The story centers on a sister and brother, who after hearing a young boy's cry for help, venture into a vast field of grass in Kansas but soon discover that there may be no way out. "Within minutes they are disoriented, in deeper than seems possible, and they’ve lost one another. The boy’s cries are more and more desperate. What follows is a terrifying, entertaining, and masterfully told tale."
This is the third film project from Stephen King that Netflix has developed. The first two films were Gerald’s Game and 1922, and they were both incredibly well-made films. In The Tall Grass is definitely a great story that should make for another fantastic film.
Netflix will release the film sometime in 2019.
