Patrick Wilson Wants To Reprise His Role of Nite-Owl in HBO's WATCHMEN Series

As you know, Damon Lindelof is deep in development of a Watchmen series for HBO. This will be a new adaption of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’s classic graphic novel. I'm a fan of Zack Snyder's big screen adaptation, but I'm pretty stoked about seeing how this series turns out, especially with Lindelof and HBO's involvement.

There is one actor from the film who would love to reprise his role in the series. That actor is Patrick Wilson, who played Daniel Dreiberg a.k.a. Nite-Owl for Snyder. While talking to Yahoo Movies, he said:

"It was such a joy shooting that movie, I wanted there to be more of them. I’ve wanted to play Dan again. I certainly think we’re all more age appropriate now!"

He makes a good point, but the actor goes on to point out that he hasn't heard anything from HBO about the show.

"There’s never been one conversation. I’m sure they want to stay as far away from us as possible but I love Damon Lindeloff I’m so excited to see what they will do. I’d love to play [Dan] now but no there’s been no talk, I’m just a fan like you are."

I loved Wilson in this role and it would be cool to see him play the character in the series, but he's right. HBO probably isn't going to go that route. When previously talking about the series and why he was doing it, Lindelof said:

"Watchmen—it was dangerous. And you can’t be dangerous for dangerous’s sake, but the reason that I’m doing this is these are dangerous times, and we need dangerous shows."

Lindelof then teased how his Watchmen series will explore superheroes, saying:

"What we think about superheroes is wrong. I love the Marvel movies... I grew up on these characters, but we should not trust people who put on masks and say that they are looking out for us. If you hide your face, you are up to no good."

Are you looking forward to this Watchmen series and would you want to see Patrick Wilson come back to play Nite-Owl?
