Paul Bettany Teases The Future of Vision in The MCU and Acting With Himself

Marvel’s WandaVision came to an end last week with a lot for fans to unpack. One thing that a lot of fans have been wondering is what the future holds for Vision in the MCU. For those of you who watched the season finale, you know that Wanda’s version of vision did a mind-meld with white Vision giving him all his memories. White Vision then said “I am Vision” and flew off into the sky.

I assume that this white version of Vision will return at some point. We just don’t know when, or where. We also don’t know what exactly we’ll expect from him when he does show back up.

While speaking with Esquire about his time on WandaVision, Paul Bettany made it clear that he plans to stick around in the MCU for a long time. When asked if he’d play Vision forever, the actor said, "I love Vision. Yes, I'm in."

Bettany then went on to tease the future of Vision in the MCU and his excitement to dig into the character more. Bettany also wondered what his character might look like without Wanda by his side.

"I mean, that's the thing, right? I've never had a loved one to lose… I don't know what grief is because I've never had a loved one to lose. There is so much to get into with him because it's been ten minutes here, ten minutes there, in the movies. Now we're sort of just starting to sort of peel back some stuff."

The actor then goes on to talk about what it was like to play the two different versions of Vision and acting with himself:

"I was super intimidated by myself. I would come in one day and I would be Vision or The Vision. Then Adam [Lytle], my stunt guy, would play Vision. And he learned all of the dialogue and for both parts — he was brilliant. We would play the scene like that. And then the next day, he would come in. And he would get The Vision. Then I would get Vision. And then we would play the scene like that and the same to the fights so that they could always have my bella faccia on camera, at some point. It was more confusing than I had sort of allotted. It used up all of my brain."

I have no idea when we’ll see Vision in the MCU again. Maybe Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness? Just because maybe that would be the film where he and Wanda could reunite. Where do you think Vision could show up again?
