Paul Greengrass Will Direct Benedict Cumberbatch in BRAVEHEART-Like Action Drama THE HOOD

Director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, Green Zone, Captain Philips) is set to direct a new period drama titled The Hood, with Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), set to star.

The movie is about the peasant revolt in England. The film is described as an “action drama that is best likened to Braveheart, and Gladiator.” Cumberbatch will play a farmer who becomes the leader of the revolt.

I like the films that Greengrass has made, and The Hood is definitely a different kind of film project for him. It will be interesting to see him take on a film that can be compared to Braveheart and Gladiator, both of which are phenomenal movies! It’ll be cool to see what he does with this story.

Greengrass most recently directed the Tom Hanks in News of the World, and Cumberbatch is coming off his big Marvel hit Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
