Paul Rudd Talks About Getting to Meet Stan Lee and Reveals What the Comic Creator Told Him About ANT-MAN
Getting to work on Marvel movies has to be such a fun and exciting experience. There are some brilliant minds making those films, and some awesome stars playing the superheroes. But Ant-Man star Paul Rudd has probably the coolest story about an on-set meeting that is sure to make any Marvel fan jealous.
In a recent video interview with GQ Magazine (via CB), Rudd talked about meeting none other than Marvel comic creator, the late, great Stan Lee:
"One of the most incredible experiences I've had working on the Marvel films is getting to meet Stan Lee. And one of the things that he told me was how happy he was that they were making Ant-Man as a film. He felt in the comics, it was very tough to really gauge the scale. If you're drawing Ant-Man, you can't really draw other things at the proper scale. So audiences were going to finally see Ant-Man in the way that he always envisioned Ant-Man."
It’s awesome to think that Lee himself was stoked to see his vision realized on the big screen in a way he had always envisioned but was never able to translate completely to the page. I’m so glad he was able to see the character on screen, and that we got cameos of Lee in so many of those first Marvel movies. He is a legend whose work continues to live on in a massive way.
